The financing of the Ajara Semi-urban and Rural Water supply and Wastewater Treatment Programme has two main dimensions in the frame of which it is planned to establish centralized waste water systems in the semi-urban areas and decentralized -in the villages of Ajara.

Centralized waste water systems in semi-urban areas will collect waste water masses next to the house and pump it to the waste water treatment plant.

Decentralized waste water system concept envisages arrangement of small and micro septic tanks allowing connection of one or several houses. Waste water masses will be collected in the septic tanks that will be emptied, on average, once in two years which then will be transported to the treatment plant by the special trucks.
